State Democratic leaders helping to limit illegal immigration

The Democratic leader of Florida Sen. Jason Pizzo is throwing a bill that requires all employers in the state to comply with the e-Verifie system when hiring new workers. .

The Senator’s bill says employers, including private companies, government agencies or subcontractors, have found that breaching the law faces consequences. They were able to revoke or suspend their business license for up to a year, along with a fine of up to $10,000. If a company is found to have broken the law multiple times, it could be fined up to $250,000 and lose its business license forever.

Senator Pizzo said the money raised from the fine would go directly to the Florida Highway Patrol to help implement immigration laws.

Boeing, Blue Origins abandons aerospace workers

Boeing is preparing to issue layoff notifications to approximately 200 employees working on the large rocket (SLS), the core of NASA’s flagship Artemis program. It will end in March as contracts with the Space Agency may not be renewed after them.

The Blue Origin Company says that about 10% of the workforce will be let go. Most of the jobs fired include engineering, research and development, and management positions. Approximately 14,000 people work in blue origin. When releasing some of the employees, Blue Origin says they are still planning to expand and build the facility near the Kennedy Space Center.

State Senate candidates return to vote

The Florida State Department’s election division said Debbie Mayfield is not eligible to run for Brevard County Senate District 19 seats due to his skills in state regulations regarding terms restrictions. Mayfield is running in a special election to run for the seat she previously held. She challenged the decision before the court after state officials said she was ineligible.

The Florida Supreme Court heard the challenge and in favor of Mayfield, supporting her name returning to the GOP primary vote in April.

Conservatives who opposed Mayfield running again for her old seat say she is the child of the term limit poster.
