Epic Universe Theme Park’s dueling roller coaster attraction Stardust Racers is back in action after an extended downtime.
Universal Orlando’s thrill ride in Epic’s Celestial Park area returned to the operating lineup Wednesday. The wait time announced Thursday morning was 45 minutes, less than the expected 60-minute queue for the park’s Harry Potter and the Battle of the Ministry of Magic attraction.
The coaster has not been in operation since mid-February, and its closure time has been extended several times, most recently set for April 5th.
“Stardust Racers is undergoing its first annual planned inspection and maintenance process,” Universal said in an official statement earlier this month. “We are extending our temporary closure period because we are efficiently completing work one at a time, and we are also adding additional production capacity and increasing throughput.”

The ride was also closed for two weeks after a fatal accident in September. Universal said the 2026 maintenance work is unrelated to that incident.
Stardust Racers is listed with a top speed of 102 mph and a maximum altitude of 133 feet. It was an opening-day attraction when Epic debuted in May, along with three other coasters: Curse of the Werewolf, Mine-Cart Madness, and Hiccup’s Wing Gliders.
