Starbucks cuts “not very popular” drinks from its menu

New York (AP) – Starbucks is cutting menus. Some of the coffee giant’s “less popular drinks” are set to take the final bow next week.

In its announcement Monday, Starbucks outlined plans to remove its drinks, including several blended Frappuccino drinks, Royal English Breakfast Strate, and White Hot Chocolate, starting Tuesday, March 4th.

“These items are not generally purchased and are complicated to make or are like other drinks on the menu,” Starbucks wrote. The Seattle-based company added that by simplifying its menu, it can “focus on less popular items that are outstanding.”

According to Starbucks, these cuts reduce wait times, improve consistency, and “make way to innovation.” The chain says it will continue to introduce several other new items and seasonal specials, including the Cortado drinks introduced last month and the new “Ice Cherry Chai” set, which will debut in the spring.

Menu changes arrive amid widespread restructuring at the Seattle-based company. Starbucks also said it would fire 1,100 corporate employees around the world this week. Nicole joined the chain as CEO in August.

Beyond next week’s menu cut, Starbucks says additional drinks and food will also close the menu in the coming months. This represents a reduction of about 30% by the end of fiscal year 2025 in the US, but here is a list of drinks set. It will be deleted on March 4th, when the company shared it with the Associated Press.

1. Ice matcha lemonade

2. Espresso Frappuccino

3. Caffèvanilla frappuccino

4. JavaChipFrappuccino

5. White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino

6. Chaikreme Frappuccino

7. Caramel Ribbon Crunch Cream Frappuccino

8. Double Chocolatty Chip Cream Frappuccino

9. Chocolate Cookie Cream Frappuccino

10. White chocolate cream frappuccino

11. White hot chocolate

12. Royal English Breakfast Strategy

13. Honey Almond Milk Flat White
