The 20-year-old son was found to “actively stab” his 52-year-old father with a sword, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies demanded that the suspect drop the sword. When he failed to comply, his 20-year-old son was shot by a lieutenant.

The victim and suspect were treated at the scene, but both died from injuries.
The sheriff’s office said the aide who fired the firearm was placed on administrative leave along with his salary, waiting for an investigation.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with their loved ones,” the official shared in a Facebook post.
This remains a continuous investigation.
