Mountain Equipment Company recalls two types of child snow-like snow due to concerns about mold contamination.
The MEC Toaster and Toaster Bunting Suit is a one-piece waterproof suit with dual front zippers.
A recall notice distributed by Health Canada on Monday said only suits with certain item numbers are affected.
Affected item numbers are 5037-265 and 5047-839. Purchase order numbers are 666483 and 666503.
MEC toaster bunting suits range in sizes 6, 12, 18 and 24 months and are available in summit winter creatures, salmon berry, wild berry and earthy gold.
The MEC toaster suit is in children’s sizes 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 and wears salmon berry, purple orchid, summit, black pow and dark forest mountain snow.
The company says that between August and December 2024, approximately 3,200 units of recalled snowsuits were sold in Canada.
As of February 11, he said he had received two reports of children affected by mold in Canada.
Customers will be asked to return the affected product to Mountain Equipment Company for a refund or exchange.
Health Canada says it could be a health risk for people with an allergy to immune system, lung damage, or mold.
