Palm Bay, Fla. (WFLA) – A social media post by a Palm Bay City Councilman about the Indian-American community has sparked anger and called for him to be taken from his office.
According to a report from NBC affiliate Wesh, the city council’s Thursday night meeting was packed with councillor Chandler Ranjubin and members of the community who appeared to oppose comments posted on his X account.

The controversial post included a post that Rangebin said “No Indians care about the US.” Another said, “We will deport all Indians right away.” In response to a Homeland Security post about a fatal crash involving people who said staff were illegally in the country.
Speakers at the Thursday night meeting requested that Ranjubin apologize and resign or that the city council instruct their lawyers to request him to stop him.
“He disregards Palm Bay, Brevard County, and his disregards our country, Florida,” said one chairman. “Please remove this cancer.”
The state leaders of both parties also denounce Ranjubin’s comments. Rep. Randy Fein (R. Melbourne Beach) called Langevin’s post “repulsion” and “racist,” saying, “When you say you’re so racist and wrong, you need to apologize for it.”
Fentris Driskel (D-Tampa), leader of the House of Representatives Democrats of Florida, also responded to Langevin’s social media posts called “ignorant, wrong, and anti-American.”
“He has shown, over and over, that he is not worthy of being a leader in his community,” Driskel said. “I hope that the good people of Palm Bay will reject him and his ignorance, and that he will be able to educate himself about his neighbors and let go of this hatred.”
Langevin responded to the controversy using his X account. In one post, he wrote, “I personally think of them Americans, but my comments were not directed at them. I support my comments regarding all forms of illegal immigration.”
He also oversaw posts to those seeking his removal. The post states, “As for resignation, I can vote for the letter tonight. I hope you do that. It’s not worth it. I’ll listen for another three years. Get used to it.”
The Thursday night meeting ended with the city council voting for 4 TO1 and sending a letter to Gov. Ron DeSantis asking for the removal of Langebin.
