Melbourne, Fla. (WFLA) – A 58-year-old Georgia man died in a weekend skydiving accident on Florida’s space coast.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office told NBC affiliates, where the man was attending the charity event when the accident occurred on Saturday, July 26th.

Authorities say the 58-year-old did a “hard landing” behind Crowne Plaza Oceanfront, a hotel near Melbourne.
The first 911 calls were routed to Melbourne Police. However, officers arrived and after finding the injured man, they requested the sheriff’s office.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later declared to have died, Wesh reported.
As of Tuesday, authorities had not released details regarding the man’s identity. It was unclear what caused the hard landing.
