This weekend we’ll start a busy time for Silver Spurs Rodeo with a parade and Monster Bulls event in front of the four-day Silver Spurs Rodeo.
Osceola County tradition, with an 81-year history in central Florida, brings a parade tradition annually to St. Cloud, which begins at 10am on February 15th. This weekend is also the beginning of the Osceola County Fair, which begins on Friday.
“Our rodeo parade used to be held in Kissimmee. We moved to St. Cloud a few years ago, but it’s growing every year,” said Randy Booth, the big boss of the rodeo. “We get more floats each year and get more participation. It really starts with our rodeo week.”

The Silver Spurs rodeo parade will pass through downtown St. Cloud in 2020.
Bailey Jannin, a high school senior who now holds the title of Miss Silver Spurs, said he was excited to ride his first horse in the parade.
“You’re approaching everyone and you can see the whole town gathering before the five events we’re in. It’s a good homeland parade,” she said. “This club dates back to generations and it’s a real honor to be part of this tradition.”
As Miss Silver Spurs, Jannin will carry the American flag at the Rodeo Arena during each of the five upcoming events.

Wyatt Casper from Pampa, Texas will compete in the saddle bronclimbing riding at the 144th Silver Spurs Rodeo at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee in 2020.
In the evening after the parade, the Monster Bulls will gather fans inside the Silver Spurs Arena in a test that combines some of the state’s best bulls and riders, Booth said.
The 154th Silver Spurs Rodeo will be marked for the weekend of February 20th-23rd. This includes all seven traditional rodeo events: bull riding, saddle bronclimbing, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team rope, tie down rope and barrel racing.
Although some aspects of the rodeo have been upgraded for the 21st century, the aging main event remains roughly the same.

“The Silver Spurs Riding Club has been posting this rodeo here at Kissimee for 81 years this year. The tradition is really deep. I am a fourth generation rancher and a member of the Silver Spurs,” Booth said. . “I grew up at Spurs, and it’s great to see them grow with the community. It’s an honor to be a big boss to continue to help Spurs grow and support the community. That was.”
In 2024, Silver Spurs Riding Club donated more than $44,000 to nonprofits and community organizations in Florida Central.
