DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) – A man died Saturday after authorities said they stabbed the two and exploded the door and charged at deputies with a knife.

The incident occurred along Derbyshire Road in Daytona Beach around 9:30pm.

In a social media post, Volusia Sheriff’s office said lawmakers responded to the scene and found two people, ages 16 and 39, suffered multiple stab wounds.

According to the agency, when the deputy entered the house, the man rushed out of the bedroom with a large knife in his hand and raised it over his head. The lawmakers fired fire on the suspects and attacked him multiple times. He was declared dead at the scene.

The 16- and 39-year-olds were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and are in stable condition.

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office, Daytona Beach Police Station, Ormond Beach Police Station and Holly Hill Police Station responded to the incident. No agents or officers were injured.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating a fatal shooting. Following standard protocols, the involved VSO agents were placed on temporary administrative leave.
