West Mobile, Alabama (WKRG) – Kadance Fredericksen, teenage Miss Okaloosa County in 2024, is known to others as a beacon of hope and light, especially to her pageant coach.

Michelle Watts coached Fredericksen from the age of 15. Fredericksen’s mother took her from Baker, Florida, to West Mobile, Alabama, to practice with Watts.

The two met while Fredericksen was preparing for Miss Florida Teen USA.

“She was the light in every room she was in,” Watts said. “But she was meek and humble at the same time.”

She said Fredericksen influenced her life and made her a coaching student in 2024.

“I have a few people who pass through my doors. Usually they’re here to coach me to get ahead and become a coach,” Watts said.

“But there are people who pass through my doors. They’re mentoring me, they’re mentoring me,” Watts said Fredericksen was one of those people.

Leave a legacy not only for pageants, but for children in need around the world.

“She passed away at the age of 18, but literally, the story of her life and the songs of her life were still sung,” she said.

Kadance created Kadha’s promises at the age of 13. It is currently helping children and three other countries across the United States.

Kada’s Promise is an organization that collects teddy bears and blankets for children who endure abuse and trauma like she did when she was younger.

Watts said that as a teenager, her beloved family, her stepmother, was the reason Cadance was so strong.

“One of my favourites I witnessed about Cadence and her mother, Lisa, was that her mother was able to show her the love of Christ in all respects,” Watts said. .

“She loved her, she was there to support her and what she did, and she really loved her unconditionally,” she continued.
