Lucy, Port St. FL (WFLA) – The bride was given a court date, but was not married.

On April 11, officers from the Port St. Lucie Police Station pulled a vehicle traveling 105 mph in Crosstown. The duo reportedly said that the reason they were speeding up was because the bride was late for her own wedding.

The time marked on the body camera video showed 2:42pm in Port St. Lucie.

“Whose wedding is it?” the officer asks the vehicle pair.

The woman wearing a white passenger gown said it was her big day and would be at Stuart’s courthouse about 15 miles away at 2:30pm.

When the police told her they were already late, the bride told him they were in their middle.

At that time, the officers tell the driver that he will allow him to get there, but first issue their own court dates for their excessive speeding.

“The old proverb is that the rain on your wedding day is fortunate! Well, on this sunny day, the bride driver has a forced court date before the judge,” the department wrote on Facebook. “This stop gives a whole new meaning to racing to the altar. It’s not the best way to start your wedding.”
