Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. – Today, Gov. Florida, Ron DeSantis announces it will recommend increasing wages for state law enforcement officers and firefighters, focusing on its fiscal 2025 fiscal 2026 fiscal 2026 fiscal year financial responsibility budget proposal I did.
“We support men and women who keep the roads and communities safe,” DeSantis said. “Throughout my tenure, I have provided a commitment to assist law enforcement and first responders. So for next year I would recommend a well-earned salary increase.”
The governor’s focus on the fiscal responsibility budget recommends an increase of $118.3 million in wages for more than 4,700 state law enforcement officers and more than 730 state firefighters. This includes a:
A 20% increase in state entry-level law enforcement officers. And 25% of wages for veteran oath law enforcement officers and firefighters in all states will increase.
These pay increases build on the support already provided to support law enforcement and first responders. As a result of these initiatives, Florida continues to have a record crime rate. It continues to be the perfect place to raise, work and raise a family. And it remains the most friendly state in the country for its first counterpart.
