Hillsboro County, Fla. (WFLA) – Starting Friday night, busy roads in the Riverview area will be closed for the next three weeks.
Things along Boyette Road look different as the Florida Department of Transport continues its massive restoration project.
The lane begins a shutdown at Boyette Road at the intersection of US 301.
“It’s a $205 million project, most of which is converting the asphalt-to-concrete intersection, with lots of truck traffic, concrete is more durable, and another part of the project is resurfaced with a larger section of the US 301.”
This section is located at 301 from Whit Road to Rivercrest Drive.
Boyette Road east of 301 will be closed as part of the project.
Detours will be installed for drivers along Bloomingdale Avenue, Bell Shoals Road, McMullen Road and Rhodine Road.

Drivers can expect heavy traffic as part of the intersection closure.
“The business remains open and access to the company remains open, but there may be some crowds expected. Of course, if you get off I-75 at Gibsonton you can leave the interstate, but you can’t cross Boyette.
Once this phase is complete, the intersection will be recontained and an additional left turn lane will be entered from Boyette to Southbound US 301, FDOT said.
Carson works hard to get this all done, and as part of Workzone Awareness Week, they want to make sure the people behind the wheels pay attention.
“It’s really easy, put your phone down and slowly, we’re all working in the office. A lot of workers are out and they’re working along the road. They’re improving the roads for all of us.
Boyette Road is expected to be closed for 21 days, and FDOT wants to remind people to be patient and drive carefully.
