Rick Scott will co-introduce the bill to help veterans access the benefits of VAs

Senators Rick Scott (R-FL) and Jackie Rosen (D-NV) have announced the bipartisan and two-house conservation of access to the Patient Refund (PAPR) Act. The PAPR Act will ensure that veterans in our country continue to have access to a paper-based system for reimbursement of travel expenses during and during medical appointments.

The law follows the transition from the U.S. Veterans Affairs Agency (VA) to a fully web-based travel reimbursement program for veterans, causing obstacles to those who do not access or experience computers. The law was coexisted by Senators Roger Marshall, Jim Riche, Mike Round, Tom Tillis, Roger Wicker, Angus King and Gary Peters, and was led by House Congressmen Gus Bilirakis and Chris Pappas.

“Our veterans are American heroes and risk their lives to protect their freedom as Americans,” Scott said. “They are sacrificing a lot on behalf of the country and should not face unnecessary hurdles in the VA. The bill provides a simple fix that makes it easier for veterans to reimburse by making paper files available to people with limited access or experience to computers and online-based systems. I urge my colleagues to support the PAPR Act and pass it quickly to the law.”
