Dahler: Do you have a favorite costume you’ve ever made?
Randell: I haven’t worn many costumes here. I have always made very simple and easy choices. This year I have to say, don’t tell the boys, but we’re going to be dodgeball, or mean Joes. This year will probably be the best year yet.
Dahler: What was your costume last year?
Randell: Last year it was Mario Kart. I was Mario, Samo (Samoskevich) was Wario, and Spencer (Knight) was Luigi. Maybe that was actually (my favorite).
Dahler: Who do you think will have a good costume this year?
Randell: We have a lot of people on our team who are interested in Halloween. Chucky (Matthew Tkachuk) is always good. He’s always working hard behind the scenes.
Dahler: Do you think Matthew is the most Halloween-savvy person on the team?
Randell: It’s hard to say. There are many men who spend a lot of time and effort on their clothes. I could probably name ten people, but for now I’ll just say Chucky.
Dahler: Do you have a favorite Halloween or horror movie?
Randell: I’m a big movie buff, but I don’t have a particular favorite movie. Actually, I’m not a big fan of horror movies. I like action. I like drama, but like pure horror, it’s probably not my cup of tea.
Dahler: How is Halloween in Finland different from America?
Randell: I think it’s bigger here. People are decorating the outside and putting more effort into it. I think this is great for adults too. Back home, it’s more for the kids. Children dress up in different Halloween costumes and go from house to house in search of candy, but here it’s more for adults. Overall, I think it’s bigger here.
