TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – If you feel lucky, you’ll get the chance to play Powerball on Saturday nights. Because you get one of the biggest jackpots in US history.
The jackpot has skyrocketed to a billion dollar award. It is the sixth largest award in the history of the game.
Sunshine State has more Powerball winners than any other state, according to the Florida lottery.

The last Powerball Jackpot claimed in Florida was $224.9 million on May 6, 2024, the Florida Lottery said.
The Florida winner was included in the world record $1.586 billion jackpot in January 2016, with recipients in California and Tennessee as well.
