Pauling shows that it is popular for Floridians to support the time limit.
A poll conducted by US Term Limit () found that 81% of Florida voters support the county commissioner period limit. What is currently included in pursuing a term limit for county commissioners is putting limits on local school board members.
The bill to do so was sponsored by FL state lawmaker Michelle Salzman (R-Pensacola). I passed the floor of the house with a vote of 82-33. The language of the bill says voters can help limit terms through constitutional amendments on the state’s 2026 election voting.
Florida voters like time limits, but some groups don’t. The Florida County Association and the small county coalition are opposed to the law. State Democrats don’t support the measure, and some Republicans have balked the idea of supporting Florida Senators like Senator Erin Gulal of Vero Beach.
And Glaal may not be the only Republicans who oppose it. The conditions proposed by Senator Blaise Ingoglia currently stand in the GOP Run state Senate.

Ingoglia says most voters in his district want the bill. The Ingoglia Term Limit Bill Advocacy Act says that by maintaining career politicians, it allows new ideas to improve local governments without maintaining the status quo.
Opponents of the time limit will defend their position by claiming that new elected people do not have the “institutional knowledge of the current elected individuals,” and that will take time to learn.
Others say all term limits will increase the fact that Power Tallahassee lobbyists and state government staff are giving them more control.
“Well, the first thing I say is that about 80% of voters want term limits and they want to set it at eight years. And all we want is to put it on the vote.
