Bushnell, Fla. (WFLA) – The bed of a dump truck left in a raised position was sandwiched overnight under the overpass of Interstate 75.

At about 1:20am on Monday, the Florida Highway Patrol responded to I-75 under the CR-475 overpass in Sumter County, near Mile Post 333.5.

According to the Troopers, the 56-year-old driver from Ocala accidentally placed the dump bed in an upright position.

The bed was torn apart by wedges while passing under the overpass and the truck continued northward.

Images taken by FHP show the bed of a dump truck staying in the right lane of the northbound I-75, but the truck came to the final stop just before the impact point.

The driver was not injured during the collision.

Florida Department of Transport engineers inspected elevated roads and highways and cleared the impact site by 8:15am
