Video: “Deportation Depot” to open second illegal immigration facility in Florida
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Florida officials have confirmed that the state’s second immigration detention center, Deportation Depot, is currently open.

A spokesman for Gov. Ron DeSantis confirmed in a statement Friday that the Baker County facility is open to your side 8.
The first immigrant detainees arrived Tuesday, according to the Florida Department of Emergency Management. At the time of this report, the facility had 117 detainees.
“Deportation Depot” was set up at the Baker Correctional Institution, a former men’s prison that was closed due to a shortage of staff. Officials previously said the new detention centre could hold up to 1,300 people with the potential to expand.
The detention center is on the road from Lake City Airport. Lake City Airport is where they fly immigrants illegally in the United States.
The news comes after the appeals court suspended a provisional injunction to close the state’s first immigration detention center, taking into account the nickname “Crocodile Alcatraz.”
