TALHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) – New details have been revealed in a timeline of events before and after last month’s fatal shooting at Florida State University.

Phoenix Echner, 20, is considered a archer and faces two counts of first-degree murder and seven attempted murders.

Officials said the updated timeline for the event began with Ichner reaching the FSU parking garage at 11:00am and entering and leaving the vehicle for about an hour.

11:56 AM -Ikner fires the first shot.
11:57 AM -Ikner is seen running with a firearm towards the Student Union.
11:58am – Multiple 911 calls begin. Ikner continues shooting, attacking multiple victims, including chasing Tilchava, who was shot again while fleeing and lying on the ground.
11:59 AM -Ikner shoots Robert Morales at the food court. Both Morales and Chava died as a result.
12:00pm – Responding officers contact Ichner, where he is shot in the jaw and taken into custody near the Student Union.

Police say the incident was resolved within five minutes. Despite the prompt response, the suspect was able to hurt eight people and affect the lives of hundreds.
“Our family and many of us are kind of left behind in the dark in terms of what’s going on,” said civil rights attorney Bakari Sellers.

The lawyers representing Thiru Chava’s family still have doubts about law enforcement and the university.
“We need to understand who the shooters are. We need to understand his background. We need to understand who the shooters are and what the university knew about their background,” the seller said.

As investigators worked to piece together the background, they revealed important evidence from the scene.

A .45 caliber Glock handgun was retrieved near Ichner. The orange hummer, registered as Phoenix’s father, is also next to the Student Union, with a shotgun found inside.

The survey remains open and active. The Tallahassee Police Department and the FBI continue to interview witnesses and victims, with Ikner remaining at the Wakula County Detention Facility.

Court records show that Ekner’s next appearance in front of a judge could be June 11, 2025.
