To riff on the “Peter Pan” song, they fly, fly, fly, fly, fly.
Walt Disney World has added a new aerial element to Magic Kingdom’s “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” parade. A tribute to the 1953 film set in Neverland, this float features Peter Pan and Wendy Darling taking flight thanks to some wire-related magic.
The routine is like a bit of an aerial ballet (not Ariel, the wrong movie), with spinning choreography by the duo hanging above an illuminated view of London, including Big Ben. After months of fan speculation, the stunt debuted on the theme park’s streets Thursday night.

Initial reviews were optimistic. Drew Smith posted a video of the first performance, including cheers from onlookers, to X (@DrewDisneyDude).
“The moment Peter Pan and Wendy took flight for the first time in Disney Starlight. The reaction was worth the wait,” she wrote.
“Watching them soar above the London skyline floats is the absolute ‘wow’ moment this parade has been waiting for,” posted X.com user @4chipandcompany.

“Disney Starlight” has been performed nightly at Magic Kingdom since July. This is the first time since 2016 that the park has held a regular night parade. The parade begins with the Blue Fairy from “Pinocchio” and includes other movies such as “Encanto,” “Frozen,” “Coco,” and “Moana,” while the finale features princesses and princes dancing alongside a locomotive-shaped float carrying Mickey Mouse and about 12 friends.
Parade drop-off times vary by day, but are typically 8:30 p.m. Some nights there are two showings, with a follow-up line around 10:30 p.m. Times can be found on disneyworld.com and the My Disney Experience app.
