Florida Attorney General Pam Bondy has considered running for her old position before President Trump is nominated for US Attorney General. Bondy was a strong supporter of Trump and represented him in his first blast each trial. , but nothing affects the members of the cabinet.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondy is “seriously considering” her previous position as Florida Attorney General when President Donald Trump asked him to choose to lead the Justice Department.
That disclosure came Saturday in her interview with Fox News broadcast of her weekly programme, “My Views with Lala Trump, the President’s Stepdaughter, and more.” She is married to Trump’s third child, Eric Trump.
“I was seriously considering running for Attorney General again in Florida because I was out,” Bondy told Trump. “And I learned… if I sat there, I could run again. And I love being in Florida. I love helping people, and that’s what I meant. It was a plan for.
Bondy, a Republican, was the first woman to be elected Florida Attorney General, serving in 2011-19. Florida has limited the governor and three cabinet members (a agricultural committee member, attorney general and chief financial officer) to a four-year term for the second consecutive year. But that doesn’t prohibit them from sitting in the term and running again.
Republican Ashley Moody, who replaced Bondi, would have been term restricted in 2026.
Gov. Ron DeSantis chose his chief of staff and former presidential election administrator James Usmiere to replace Moody. Earlier this month, Uthmeier opened his own political fundraising committee, indicating his intention to run for statewide work in 2026.

How did Pam Bondy become U.S. Attorney General?
Bondi was chosen for the famous attorney general role after former Florida US Rep. Matt Gaetz announced he was excluded from the Senate confirmation process.
Gaetz had partially fired over allegations of sex trafficking, payments to sexual women and sex with minors by the Justice Department and the House Ethics Committee. Gaetz strongly denied any fraud and the Justice Department refused to file charges against him.
Bondi, 59, has long been a political ally to President Trump. She represented Trump in his first bounce each trial. He was accused of withholding aid to Ukraine to pressure the Ukrainian government to investigate former President Joe Biden. The Senate acquitted Trump in that trial, mainly along the party line.

In 2013, Bondi announced that Florida would take part in a New York investigation into Trump University. Trump University was a for-profit seminar series promoting teaching Realtate’s success, but later canceled the state’s plans to sue, citing inadequate reasons to continue.
It was later reported that a $25,000 check from Trump’s foundation was donated to the political committee supporting Bondy’s then-elect election campaign and to support justice. She defended contributions as small amounts of money compared to the costs of running a statewide campaign, and rejected suggestions that returning the money might have built up political meaning.
Can I change the time limit in Florida?
The chairman of Florida Republican Evan Power Sunday said he was not surprised to hear that Bondi had thought about his return to Florida Capitol, home to the Attorney General’s Office.
Bondi “is the exceptional attorney general in Florida, so it’s not surprising that she was considering a return to public service in that role,” he said. “Fortunately, she is confirmed in a bigger role to help save our country.”
Florida Democratic Party Chairman Nikki Fried had a different view. “It’s no surprise that Pam Bondy was planning another run for Florida Attorney General,” she said Sunday.
“She has a track record of weaponizing the judicial system and wasn’t Trump’s first choice. This is all about reshuffling the deck and retaining power,” Freed added.
The period limit bill was introduced at a future legislative meeting, but has no relation to cabinet members. One such bill (SJR 536) would create a constitutional amendment to go to voters across the state, and if passed, lawmakers would be restricted to “a total service for 16 years.”
It prevents them from bounced from chamber to chamber when they have longer seats, extending tenure beyond the “8 is sufficient” limit of the constitution, and extending tenure to one seat consecutive conditions Only applies.
