TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Twenty people have been charged with a massive takedown of drug crowds, Attorney General James Usmier announced.

“Operation Trackside” discovered massive human trafficking of fentanyl, cocaine and oxycodone, operating across Palm Beach and Broward counties.

The surgery seized more than five kilograms of drugs, $450,000 in cash, firearms, vehicles and boats.

“Drug traffickers who push poisons like cocaine and fentanyl into our community benefit from the deaths of Floridians,” Attorney General James Usmier said. “In Florida, the outcome is simple. If you buy or sell illegal drugs, prosecutors across the state will ensure you spend a long time behind the bar.”

According to Uthmeier, the 14-month investigation was led by the Boynton Beach Police Department, partnering with numerous law enforcement agencies.

During the investigation, detectives obtained 17 search warrants, leading to the arrest of these individuals.

According to Uthmeier, officers from various agencies executed 15 search warrants on September 3 with six handguns, two semi-automatic rifles, 11 vehicles, one boat, 5,027 grams of drugs and seizures of $452,026 in cash.

The statewide prosecutor’s office attorney general has charged 20 people connected to human trafficking organisations, Uthmeier said.

Seventeen people face cocaine traffic conspiracy, others have been charged with fentanyl trafficking, oxycodone trafficking, solicitation to supply controlled substances and related crimes.

The arrests of five people are unpaid.
