OCALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJW) — After a water-clogged trip over a stream with paddleboards earlier this week, the young boy is safe, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee (FWC) said in a release.

Grayson Hardy, 7, was reported missing Monday after being seen on a family paddleboard near Rocky Creek in Blue Water Bay, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Florida officer 7 accused of leaving the victim in 2024

Several agencies worked together to find the boy later that day. He is “a mile upstream after navigating through a tough stream full of submerged trees and obstacles,” the FWC said.

The first question to the boy’s rescuer is reportedly, “Do you have any food?”
