Key West, Fla. (WFLA) – An investigation into marine resource violations is underway after the 291 queen conch was illegally harvested.
Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported an incident occurred in the area of 17 Shore Line Road, Keyhaven, between July 7th and July 10th.

Queen Conk is a large-scale sea snail and is considered a species threatened under Florida law under the Endangered Species Species Act. This is due to population decline and ecological importance.
