Earlier this summer, major research revealed that the spectacular universe is already boosting tourism to Florida, and NBC will soon be able to see the theme parks well.
NBC will air within the world of Epic Universe, a one-hour television special, on Wednesday, August 20th, at 9pm ET/PT. The program will be available for streaming on Peacock from August 21st.
The special takes a closer look at the spectacular Universe, Universal Orlando’s latest theme park, officially opened in May 2025. Viewers embark on a journey through all five immersive lands. What special introduces the technologies, attractions and design elements that bring these worlds to life.
Hosted by Joe Manganiello of Deal or hosted by Deal Island No No Deal Island, this special includes appearances from a wide range of celebrities. Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers provide their commentary, while Mason Thames and Nico Parker are stars of how to train upcoming Dragon live-action films, offering insights on Berk Island. The Harry Potter franchise’s Warwick Davis, Blythe Dallas Howard, Michelle Yeau and Vin Diesel, and director John M. Chew will also appear. The program features an extended interview with Stephen Spielberg, a creative consultant for universal destinations and experiences, discussing the vision and artistry behind the epic universe.

NBCuniversal executive Jen Neal described the epic universe as a “first-time theme park” that combines popular characters and storytelling with immersive, real-world experiences. Manganiello’s enthusiasm highlights the ambitious range of the park, from thrilling attractions in the dark universe to soaring adventures with dragons.
Later this year, Peacock released a three-part companion docusary entitled Epic Ride: The Story of Universal Theme Parks, taking a deeper look at Universal’s evolution and the development of Epic Universe.
