The National Education Association (NEA) recently held a workshop to teach teachers how to “speak appropriately” to students when discussing LGBT topics.
One of their training sessions was titled “Advancing LGBTQ+ Justice and Transgender Advocacy.”
The national grassroots group Defend Education has listed the agenda and union content that has thrown conservatives under the bus who oppose gender identity issues being taught in public schools.
At the meeting, conservative groups were referred to as “thugs and mental hospitals.”
NEA promoted the event to its members as a way to gain a deeper understanding of the LGBTQ+ community and the issues important to providing support and guidance that is not only inclusive but also “liberating.”
“Goals for the training include establishing a ‘common understanding of identities under the umbrella of the LGBTQ+ community,’ developing a ‘common understanding of the landscape of anti-LGBTQ+ policies and how to develop countermeasures around inclusion and equity,’ deepening ‘skills and strategies for combating implicit bias, microaggressions, and stereotypes in the LGBTQ+ community,’ and creating a ‘tactical toolset,'” one promotional document distributed to members reads. To dismantle systems of privilege and oppression regarding LGBTQ+ educators and students. ”
That wasn’t all. The NEA said it was time to address the issue of men in women’s sports.
The advocacy education group said a pamphlet was distributed to teachers on how to effectively communicate the benefits of biological males playing in women’s sports.
“Over the past decade, Republicans in state legislatures (like Florida) have increasingly turned to anti-transgender rhetoric and legislation as a powerful complement to racist dog whistles to incite fear and consolidate power,” the NEA said.
Education advocates told FOX News Digital that the NEA is sending the wrong message to both educators and students through its DEI training materials.
