HIALEA, Fla. (WFLA) – A man was shot and killed in the parking lot of an apartment building on Tuesday while visiting a friend.
According to NBC affiliate WTVJ, Hialea police officers responded to the East 9th and 7th Avenue buildings.
At the scene, they identified the body of 33-year-old Yondris Campos. The family told reporters that Campos was a Cuban father.
Police reported that Campos parked in a place belonging to suspect Pedro Blanco while visiting a friend who lived in the apartment.
Police said the investigation revealed that Blanco had gone to an apartment where Campos was visiting and knocking on the door. As Campos answered, Slanco turned around and fired a single shot at his father, killing him.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined, but police say it looks like a “dispute between neighbors.”
Hialea police arrested Blanco and charged him with first-degree murder.
