ORLANDO, FL (WFLA) – The beloved gorilla of Disney’s Animal Kingdom has passed away.
Gino, a 44-year-old Western Lowland gorilla, spent nearly 30 years in the park.
“Gino leaves us with an incredible legacy: 14 descendants, a global contribution to the care and protection of gorillas, and the enduring memories of all the cast members and guests he inspired.”

Gino would likely turn 45 this December.
“The story of Gino will continue to live in the future of his species and in the hearts of all who know and love him,” Peninning said. “Thank you, Gino. You will always be part of our family.”
