Musk said many government systems are running on outdated software and need to be updated.

Elon Musk said Wednesday he is providing technical support to the White House, but he criticised the outdated US government systems and software and said he is inefficient. Ta.

Musk, along with UAE’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence (AI), commented during a virtual appearance at the World Government Summit in Dubai.

The high-tech billionaire, who heads an advisory committee known under the Trump administration as the Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE), took the opportunity to wear a “technical support” t-shirt.

When asked how to make government efficient, Musk said part of his role would focus on improving the outdated technology used by the administrative sector.

“It may not be shocking to the shocking percentage of the problem, or anyone who knows it, but the majority of the problem is improving the technology the government runs on,” Musk said.

“The US government operates on a collection of thousands of computers, many of which are outdated and run on very old software, and computers don’t talk to each other, so technical support is like the real thing. . We need to improve our technology to make government more efficient.”

He told the summit that the current retirement rate for federal employees is limited to 10,000 a month. This was primarily due to the vast amount of documents related to leaving and how they were stored and processed.

“Now, it’s a manually calculated document, put in an envelope, knocking down the shafts of the mine and keeping them in the mine,” Musk said. “One of the things that affect the speed at which federal workers can retire is the speed of elevators in a mine in Pennsylvania. This is odd because it needs to be digital.”

Musk, the world’s wealthiest man, said that the US government has been working towards digitalization since 2014 but has been informed that it has not yet made enough progress.

“So, ‘You’re going to think we need to provide some technical support here, or literally people can’t even retire if they want to,” Musk said.

He said many software systems used by the government need to be updated and modified, while others may need to be fully automated or removed completely. This also helps reduce unnecessary government spending, which is one of Doge’s main goals, he said.

Musk tackles the potential conflict of interest that may be

Musk also spoke with reporters with Trump at the White House oval office on Tuesday.

During that visit, Musk, joined by his 4-year-old son X, addressed questions about the conflict of interest between his role in reshaping the government as the head of clumsy and electric vehicle company Tesla and his investment in US space. did. SpaceX is a technology company that is the leading aerospace contractor for the US government.

“Transparency builds trust,” Musk told White House reporters.

He said he can see everything the public is doing in Doge via continuous updates to X and Doge’s website.

Trump followed up Musk’s remarks by saying that the government would not allow Musk to “see that segment or view the area if there is no transparency or conflict of interest.”

The legal challenge, submitted by a coalition of 14 state attorney generals, claims Doge lacks the authority to access the system, and the move violates the law and poses a massive cybersecurity and privacy risk. I’m doing it.

A Manhattan judge ordered Doge employees to temporarily block the data from reviewing it and destroy any data they have obtained so far.

Other lawsuits in other weeks have led to Trump’s enforcement actions, including his efforts to freeze payments for federal programs and his efforts to terminate the automatic citizenship of children born to illegal immigrants in the US soil. I objected.
