Miami Gardens, Fla. (WFLA) – While five children and three adults were in a Miami Gardens car over the weekend, police were hit by a drunk driver who crashed into them, causing multiple deaths and serious injuries .

The crash occurred on Northwest 170th and 37th Avenues on Saturday, February 8th, around 6pm, according to a report by NBC 6 South Florida.

Miami Gardens police said the driver of a black Chia Sorrento, 25, 2018, KIA SORRENT, a black, had broken down and was driving at high speed while under the influence of alcohol.

“We can definitely see that speed is a factor and alcohol is a factor,” said Emmanuel Jeanti, a police spokesman for Miami Gardens.

Surveillance video obtained by NBC 6 shows that it had been repeated over the Sorrento rear and a white Nissan Ultima, which hit the silver Cadillac escalade.

Three of the five children in the Ultima were killed. These include Kamali Graham, who celebrated her 10th birthday, 9th year old Azalia McCall, and 11th year old Ileana Johnson.

According to her aunt, Susie Williams, the children were all siblings.

Their grandmother, Rosa Jones, was also killed when he crashed. The family said Jones was in her 50s.

“Everyone is sad. We are sad,” Williams said. “They were amazing kids… I’m going to miss them, I’ll miss my baby.”

Another of the children’s siblings, 13-year-old Kamarya Graham, was seriously injured and his left brain died, the family told NBC 6.

The child’s mother was in danger after crashing, and her partner was hospitalized. A 7-year-old friend of his family was also in the car and was hospitalized in a stable condition.

Ronald McCall, the father of two murdered girls, told reporters he had just been released from prison for Doi the morning after crash. He learned what had happened after he arrived at the house that morning.

“Don’t drink and drive… I’m going outside and actually losing my baby because of drinking and driving,” McCall said. “They will never come back. I have only two left. That’s difficult.”

The suspect, Wilcox Jr., was taken into custody by a non-service officer who witnessed the crash. Police said Wilcox Jr. will be charged with five counts of vehicle murder.
