JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) — A new poll shows that the majority of Florida voters have approved the work being done by President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Of the Floridians voted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy, Inc., 53% approved Desantis’ job performance, while 42% disapproved and 5% uncertain. Compared to a similar 2023 poll, the results showed that Desantis had a 6% decline from the 59% approval rate.
The 53% approval is consistent with the ratings received in 2021 and 2022 before reelection of inauguration. The governor’s highest approval rate was 62% in March 2019.

Meanwhile, Trump received a 52% approval rate from the Floridian and a 47% approval rate from his rating towards the end of his first term in December 2019.
The polls surveyed the entire Florida population, with locally Tampa Bay voters showing a 50% approval rate for the president. 46% approved his job performance, while 4% were unsure. Trump’s highest approval rate in the state was North Florida, with 63% of voters riding his job, while 34% disapproved and 3% were unsure.
In Florida, men showed a higher approval rate than women, with women over 50 having a slight advantage over women under the age of 50 when it came to Trump.
Tampa Bay voters showed 53% approval from the governor, with men leading women in acknowledgement rating.

In both surveys, Republicans supported Trump and DeSantis with greater margins than democratic and independent voters.
Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy, Inc. conducted a statewide survey from March 11 to March 15, surveying 625 registered voters via telephone. Residents were randomly selected from the voter registration list.
