MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) – More than 40 people have been arrested after lawmakers responded to reports of an argument and found a ring of chicken fights in an illegal game, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies responded to the 14,000 block of SW 192nd Avenue on Friday, May 16th about 4pm on several people engaged in a physical altercation.
MDSO said the deputies arrived on the scene and found that individuals were not only fighting, but also engaged in illegal game chicken fights.
When the agent was on the property, we saw a large gathering where people and multiple roosters roamed freely.
People on the property began to flee on foot in vehicles, but deputies were able to arrest anyone with cock spurs, according to indicators of bullfighting activity.
After the investigation, deputies arrested 42 people.
The accusations they face include attending animal fights and baiting and resisting without violence.
At the time of their arrest and reservoir, $39,147 was stolen from those attending the battle.
A total of 72 roosters were placed.

“This type of atrocity and illegality does not exist in our community. Animal fights are not only inhumane, but they often work with other serious crimes. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is committed to protecting both the people and animals in our community.
