TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Gov. Ron DeSantis said the Florida Highway Patrol Troopers have more powers in immigration cases.

FHP troopers are sworn as Special Deputy Deputy US Former to grant broader authority when special agents and even FWC officers illegally involve people in the country.

The governor said this would allow Florida law enforcement officials to run business without the help of federal agencies and arrest illegal immigrants.

“Early this week, we had over 100 FHP troopers sworn as special Deputy US ex-s.

The head of FHP said it has already had a major impact.

“We’ve been working hard to get into the work of our business,” said Dave Kerner, executive director of Florida Highway Patrol.

Gov. DeSantis said this will help Florida protect themselves from dangerous criminals who shouldn’t be in the state.

“Obviously, we need road rules. Clearly, the people in the US have the right to decide who’s coming in and who doesn’t come to our country, and you clearly have to enforce it,” DeSantis said.
