PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (WFLA) — Port Charlotte Firefighter/EMT was arrested after building an inappropriate relationship with a female victim under the age of 16.
Lawmakers responded to the home on August 5 after the victim’s mother was sexually sexual and found a text message between the boy, including a nude photo of the victim, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, Adam Franz, 39, was a friend of the victim’s family, the CCSO said.
Over the past two years, Franz has engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior with the victims many times, including when the girl cared for him during the holidays.
During the investigation, detectives discovered that Franz would send a message from the victim to tell him to delete other messages in case someone checks the phone.
“I was very clear about this before, but I’m happy to say it again. If you do something that hurts an innocent child in my county, you will face consequences.
According to lawmakers, the device indicated that several messages have been deleted.
The detective contacted Franz, but he demanded that he speak to his lawyer.
Charlotte County officials confirmed that Frans is a firefighter/EMT for Charlotte County Fire and EMS, according to NBC affiliate WBBH.
Franz was arrested on multiple indecent and lewd charges involving victims of female under the age of 16.
He was taken to the Charlotte County Jail and held on a $300,000 bond.
