ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) – His mother has been arrested after police said he was in the car seat outside his Florida home earlier this week.

The Orlando Police Station said it was discovered that the week-long boy had been abandoned in the car seat in front of the Orlando home on Lido Street around 7:20 a.m. Monday.

Angelica Sanchez Bautista, 19, was identified as the mother of the baby through an investigation effort, detectives said.

The department’s fugitive investigator arrested Bautista on child neglect.

Officials said there was no evidence that the child’s father knew about Bautista’s behavior.

“The Orlando Police Department reminds all parents and caregivers that there is a safe, legal, anonymous option for surrendering newborns. Parents can leave someone in designated locations at designated locations, such as hospitals, staffed fire rescue stations, or emergency medical services stations with staff. Contact the Multilingual Crisis Hotline at the toll-free number at 877-767-Baby (2229) for additional information.”

Other details were not available immediately.
