MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) – A teenage girl is recovering in hospital from severe burns from a Molotov cocktail after being thrown into a Miami home Tuesday night, according to a report by NBC affiliate WTVJ.
“When I left the room after hearing the big explosion, my nie was burning from the belly below,” the victim’s uncle told WTVJ.

Believing he was a targeted attack, Molotov cocktail was thrown into the front window of the house in the 27,000 block of SW 143 while watching TV with nie and ne.
Around 10pm, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a “burned dever device” thrown into the home. During the cleaning, my uncle said he found a candle jar and liquid that looked like a Mason jar.
The liquid reportedly burned almost every inch of the teenage body.
The uncle said he and his brother took the girl outside and rinsed her while they tried to put out the fire in the living room. Three other children, two of whom were 3 and 5, only a few feet away from where the device landed.

Deputies arrived and found that the girl had already been rushed to a nearby hospital by her family, the report said, and was airlifted to a pediatric trauma facility in critical condition.
Molotov cocktails left family sofas burnt and burned clothes.
“She’s so young, you know, and she’s a teenager,” my uncle told WTVJ. “We’re lucky she’s still alive. If only you could see her, that was really a bad thing.”
The family said the teenager had undergone surgery and is recovering.
At the time of this report, no details have been made regarding the suspect in this case. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office arson squad are continuing their investigation.
