Two years after she burned radio host Mike Karta on the infamous sex tape, a Pasco County woman is suing a 102.5 fm bone morning man in a subsequent brawl.
Prosecutors in 2023 determined that they had legitimate claims to self-defense as Karta refused to pursue battery charging against Karta because he pushed Erica Hernandez during a promotional appearance in Sarasota.
“Kalta turned away from Hernandez, then left him and turned away from her. Instead, when Hernandez grabbed her by the shoulder and reached for him, he moved her,” Assistant James Varnado wrote at the time.
Hernandez’s lawyer filed a lawsuit this week in Pinellas County, claiming that Hernandez was hit so hard in her face and neck, “she was almost knocked down from her leg.” She suffered from “pain and suffering, mental suffering,” and “health costs,” and described the complaints as “a worsening of existing known and unknown conditions.”
The lawsuit seeks more than $50,000 in damages and appoints Cox Media, the company that runs 102.5 The Bone, as defendant.
Having had a relationship with his rival radio personality, Hernandez was Love Sponge Crem, who went to events in June 2023 with Shark Coast tactics and confronted Karta while filming videos on the phone. She accused him of leaking a sex tape of Hulk Hogan, which was filmed in 2012 at the Clem home in 2007.
After he denied leaking the video and asking, “How pathetic is your life you’re fighting this battle?”, Carta grabbed Hernandez’s iPhone and pointed the camera at her. Hernandez reached out to touch Karuta to get his phone back. Karta pushed her away.
