The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of Florida has issued the following statement regarding the recent ruling of illegal foreigners:
US District Judge Richard A. Lazara was sentenced to three years in a federal prison by Horus Samuel Marquez Viretoro, 31, and in a federal prison, he sentenced nine months in a federal prison for illegal re-entry by an illegal alien, with illegal alien possession of firearms and ammunition in the United States. The court also ordered the defendant to confiscate firearms and ammunition that he had illegally owned. Marquez Villatoro pleaded guilty on December 18, 2024.
According to court documents, Marquez Villatoro, a Mexican citizen with no legal status in the United States, was excluded from the United States on three previous occasions before re-entering illegally after 2019. Marquez Villatoro knew that firearms and ammunition were in the car and that he was illegal in the US.
The case was investigated by the Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Project (ERO). It was indicted by Assistant United States Attorney Lindsey N. Schmidt.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) and is a program that brings together law enforcement at all levels and communities that help reduce violent crime and gun violence and make our neighborhood safer for everyone. On May 26, 2021, the department launched a violent crime reduction strategy that strengthens PSNs based on these core principles. It promotes community trust and legitimacy, helps prevent violence in the first place, prioritizes focused strategic enforcement, and measures outcomes.
