
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) – A man accused of making threats against a Florida synagogue was shot and killed by law enforcement officers Thursday while serving an arrest warrant.
Gainesville resident Ali Ihsan Bayhan was involved in a bomb threat reported at Temple Israel in Tallahassee on Wednesday, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

Authorities said they searched the temple but found no explosives. An investigation was conducted and a warrant for Bayhan’s arrest was obtained the next day.
The shooting occurred around 3 p.m. Thursday as members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force tried to take Bayhan into custody in Gainesville.
FDLE did not provide further details about the circumstances of the shooting.
On Friday, investigators continued to investigate the shooting and the threat to Temple Israel.
