Man accused of touching a child in a lazy river at a resort near Disney World

ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) – A man has been accused of touching a child in a lazy river at a resort near Walt Disney World.

William Chatel, 72, of Rhode Island, swam to a young girl at the club’s Wyndham Bonnet Creek resort on Sunday, and swam “butt club” with “” according to an arrest report from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, obtained by NBC affiliate WESH.

The resort is just a foot away from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.

After her daughter told her about the incident, the girl’s mother called ACSO. According to arrest reports, witnesses provided deputies with a video showing Chatel swimming to the children.

“The safety of our guests and associates is our number one priority. We continue to work closely with law enforcement, and guests who are allegedly involved in this incident are not welcome at any of our resort properties.”

Chatel has been charged with indecent or scavenging abuse against a victim under the age of 12 and is being held in custody and detained at the Orange County Jail.
