ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) – The mother of four was shot and killed by her husband during a domestic conflict at her Florida home.

Lamar Bryant, 41, was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office after deputies said he shot 42-year-old Takeshia Rennie Bryant.

On Tuesday afternoon, deputies responded to the 5200 block of West Livingston Street in Orlando, with the possibility of a domestic shooting. That’s when they spotted a woman with a gunshot wound.

Takeshia was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died of injuries.

The family told NBC affiliate WESH that Takeshia is known to be the loving mother who detained the family together. She has four children and four grandchildren, making her fifth along the way.

“Our hearts are directed at Takeuchi’s family at this time of this devastating loss,” the sheriff’s office said. “If you or someone you know is in an abusive relationship, help is available 24/7 from Harbor House, Central Florida hotline (407) 886-2856.”
