TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A low-pressure area offshore on the Atlantic coast of northern Florida is causing rain and thunderstorms to parts of Florida, the National Hurricane Center said.
The area also brings rain to parts of the Atlantic ocean, which is adjacent to the Bahamas in the northwest.
The system is expected to move west across Florida by the end of Tuesday.
According to the NHC, environmental conditions are preferred to support the gradual development of this system, as they will move westwardly through the northeastern and north-central parts of the Gulf Coast from the center to the end of this week.
Torrential rain could cause flash flooding from the middle of this week to parts of Gulf Bay.
The chance of formation in the next 48 hours is 10%, but the chance of formation in the next 7 days is 30%.
