Lockheed Martin, Aerospace and Defense Contractor, has established a new facility in the Titus Building, which covers about 225,000 square feet, producing a D5LE2 submarine launch missile component. The facility is expected to create about 300 skilled employment and strengthen the operation of Lockheed Martin on Florida on the Space Coast.

It is expected that this new facility will be operated by 2027 to address the Navy’s production requirements and support services for the next 60 years.

Friday announced on Friday that the U.S. Navy has agreed to change 383 million dollars to develop the next generation of Trident II Strategic Weapon System (SWS) D5 missile. This amendment aims to continue strategic deterrence capacity based on the sea of ​​the country.

Contracts include the design of the Integrated and modernized upgraded Trident II D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) missile design to use it in Colombia Class’s ballistic missile submarines. The updated missile aims to make the strategic weapon system reliable until 2084.

Jerry Mamrol, Vice President of Lockheed Martin’s fleet ballistic missile, has been designed to maintain a deterrence on evolving threats as part of the cooperation with the US Navy, as part of the U.S. Navy. I said.

D5 missiles produced and upgraded by Lockheed Martin are currently being deployed to US Ohio -class and British vanguard -class submarines. Lockheed Martin has been supporting the Navy’s fleet ballistic missile (FBM) program for 70 years. This is indispensable for the deterrence of the sea.
