LL Bean’s first Florida store has an epic opening date.
The popular outdoor and recreational store at 111 North Cattleman Road in the western district of University Town Centre will open on May 9, the company said in a news release.
The company, which began in Maine in 1912, celebrates the opening of its nearly 17,000 square feet and plans a variety of activities in the store’s first two days. They are:
At 8:45am on Friday, May 9th, LLBean will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony with company representatives, local elected officials and YMCA partners.Llbean is making a $10,000 donation to the Sarasota City YMCA for summer camp access for underserved youth.According to a news release, 100 customers will receive $50 bean gift cards every day in their stores on May 9th and May 10th. Customers can line up every day from 6am.On May 9th and 10th, the community will be invited to celebrate with prizes, family-friendly activities and photos at the iconic Llbean Bootmobile.
LL Bean Stores sells clothing, outdoor equipment and apparel, footwear, bags, travel accessories, household items and outdoor adventure services.

Leon Leonwood Bean founded the company in the Pinetree state in 1912, according to the company’s history.
Today, it is a privately owned family-owned company.
LL Bean has over 50 retailers in 18 states.
