TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The National Hurricane Center is monitoring two obstructions in the Atlantic.
One system is tropical waves emerging from the west coast of Africa. It is currently travelling around 15 miles across the west and northwest.
Although weekend development is unlikely, the situation will be more advantageous next week, which could lead to the formation of tropical depression, the NHC said.
There is a possibility of around 40% development over the next 7 days.
The NHC also monitors the Central Atlantic system, and is currently traveling through the north-northwest, hundreds of miles from the East Coast.
While the system can be developed in stages, the NHC said there is only about 20% chance of formation over the next seven days.
