Thanks to the electric go-karts of indoor attractions, Orlando tourists and locals can change to K1 speeds this summer, thanks to being able to reach 45 mph.
The race is the focus of the 60,000-square-foot facility, blocked from International Drive and just north of the Universal Epic Universe. The attraction also includes 50 arcade games, air hockey, pool tables, rooms for private events, a full recart bar and a restaurant with improved menus.

“K1 is a racing brand. Pool tables and arcade games are available as side attractions. Our food is better with a new menu.” “There’s always a focus on racing.”
Every area of the space has huge windows with racetrack views that accommodate up to 12 drivers at a time. Designed for teen/adult racers at least 58 inches tall, adult carts can reach 45 mph, but for junior races (running separately), at least 48 inches drivers will be toped at 20 mph.

Abbott said the company’s goal is to bring visitors to attend birthday parties and corporate events and help them compete in higher levels of races.
“We’re very well tuned to casual racers, but our main push is to bring that person and make it a more competitive mindset,” he said. “Our main goal is to make racing more affordable. Racing is very expensive.”
K1 Speed’s Orlando Location allows guests to purchase packages in 1, 2 or 3 races. New guests will receive a headsock. All racers will include helmets and necessary safety equipment and receive a truck rules orientation before driving.

Drivers take 12 laps around the truck and compete for lap times rather than position. An analysis of each lap time and leaderboard will be sent via email following the race. First-person view video packages are available as add-ons at an additional cost.
In Orlando, drivers can also opt for a special “grocart” experience after 5pm on Fridays. The main white lights are knocked down and colorful LED lights line the truck.
After the race, visitors can enjoy arcade games, share sliders and wings, or enjoy a drink while watching other racers zip around the track.
The K1 Speed started near San Diego in 2003, then expanded to 67 open US locations with six more locations in California and Indiana and two professional outdoor circuits open. The company is expanding its international footprint in locations in Canada, China, the UK, France, Italy, Mexico, Scotland and Korea.
Opened since 2015, Orlando Attraction is one of seven locations in Florida.
