TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Ju judges are scheduled to begin deliberations at the shooting death trial of four-year-old Suni Bell.
This follows a dramatic shift in the event during discussion at the end of yesterday afternoon.
“Someone shot me, and I shot. I feel sorry for the little girl, but someone shot us,” defendant Avante Sampson said.
Sampson unexpectedly interrupts the state when he finishes the debate with an explosion and feels sorry for the little girl in court, but someone says he shot him and someone else has shot him.
Suni Bell was in the back of his uncle’s car when he was fatally shot in August 2021.
Police say the other three cars fired and killed Suni.
“In this case, each of the defendants was charged, and each of the defendants was guilty. Each played a role in the crime of being repeatedly shot and killed in this vehicle,” Prosecutor Anna Ismer said.
All five men face multiple charges, including first-degree murder.
