The company cited “a careful analysis of store performance and future strategic fits” as the reason for the closure. It is the second highest number after California. The BrevardCounty location remains open.

The Ohio-based chain announced plans to close its stores on Wednesday in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection submission. This is the company’s second bankruptcy filing for the past 12 months.
The Joan store has approximately 850 stores. The closure list includes 36 of Florida.
“This was a very difficult decision given the huge impact that it will have on the team members, our customers, and all the communities we serve,” Joan said in a statement to USA Today on Wednesday. “Store performance and strategic and appropriate analysis of future strategically determined which stores should continue to operate normally at this point.”
