Xtend Reality Inc. (XTEND) is the leader of an AI-involved human-involving autonomous drone system founded in Israel, and officially opened a new US headquarters and production facility in Tampa this week.

“We’re not just building drones, we’re building capabilities, resilience and trust,” CEO Aviv Shapira said. “The facility marks a new chapter in Xtend in the United States.”

The facility’s opening saw federal, state and local officials gather together with military representatives to celebrate a key step towards increasing the US drone capabilities. According to a statement from XTEND, the new facility is designed to manufacture and integrate our advanced drone systems, initially focusing on Group 1 systems for the Department of Defense Application. Over time, production will expand to include essential drone subsystems such as communications modules, motors and controlled electronics, enhancing national security through the domestic supply chain.

In 2018, Israeli entrepreneurs Aviv and Matteo Shapira collaborated with Rubi Liani, Xtend was built on previous successes. Shapira Brothers previously founded replay technology, which Intel acquired in 2016 for $175 million.

Their innovation is at the heart of the XTEND Operating System (XOS), which allows operators to accurately manage teams of semi-automatic drones, even in complex mission environments.
